Listen closely: {sound of time flying}

Fast Forward 1 year and 8 months.

The house and property were so clean and pretty when we moved in.  We got everything moved over and .....{flop} collapsed from exhaustion (at least I did).
Moving was hard, and so was saying goodbye to our wonderful Edmonds neighbors (I miss you Jane and Jim and pooches, Eva and Pat and kitties, Emily and Tyler, Lily & Makena Maye & Salty, Betsy & fam. & Jackson, Barb & Jerry).
Here's some of what we've been doing as this time has passed and we've needed to make the house our own:
• fenced the parts of the property that weren't already  (required removal of
   a lot of ivy, holly, & blackberry)
• carpeted the wood stairs so old dogs and folks in socks wouldn't fall
• put in a new washing machine
• covered the underside of the deck to make the patio underneath dry
• removed some pieces of deer fence to make the flower garden more open, because
   our dogs frighten away the deer anyway
• planted and harvested two seasons of garden
• removed a scruffy Yew tree
• replaced some carpet going upstairs after.....well...(enough said)
Most importantly we have found wonderful new friendships, we have found some ways to begin to contribute to our new community, and we continue to connect with our Edmonds friends (if you haven't made it over here yet, we hope to see you soon).
And here we are at today January 9, 2014.
I know it's surely still Winter; dreary, chilly, dark; but there are already signs of Spring to come:  daffodil stems, primrose flowers, daphne nearly in blossom, peonies coming up.  I can wait. I'll put on my slippers, make some hot chocolate, curl up with a good book, and wait {sound of time passing slowly}.
